A Song from the Magma

“Primordial Mother" (or Mother Matrix)
is a song that came through this year as a surprise

I visited Big Island this past january, when my friend Anabel De La Forêt reached out to co-create a visual piece on the lava fields.

After we gathered & filmed, I went to create a special soundtrack for the epic footage we got as we formed the braid of creation, dressed in red.

I visited Kīlauea summit with during its active volcanic display & heard the seed of this song, the chanting of the names of Mother in many different languages.

For years, i've played with the words Mother, Mater, Matrix, Material, Matter, Meter as they share etymological roots, and have been playing with building a type of vocal alchemy practice around them inside of my Voice OF My Womb space.

I would invite all of the participants to sing these words together and feel the connection between the k,anifest world, the mother essence and their own participation through sound.

These words are braided along with the word 'mother' in 28 languages in a composition that sounds like creation song, a mystical gift from the magma herself.
