Drawing from influences as diverse as Classical, Broadway, Indie-Pop, Storytelling and Folk, Marya crafts a sound that is wholly original. Reweaving the forgotten tales and codes of the Great Mystery, powerhouse duo Marya Stark and Mama Crow combine forces to bring their unique musical medicine to the stage and community. Their performance can be felt as etchings from the ashes of the new moon's fire-ceremony. These two medicine bards delve into the wounding and healing of the magical feminine, interspersed with storytelling, prayer, and future dreaming. Two voices blend angelically, carrying enchanting songs of mystic folklore and urban avalon-inspired prose.
""Scarlet Crow is a mesmerizing blend of ancient and contemporary sounds that go directly to the heart. Their themes are those of the mystical feminine but the music is without gender, as the great Duke Ellington said, 'If it sounds good, it is good,' and these woman sound great!"
-Paul Janes-Brown, Curtain Call Maui"
Stark Levity is a neo-folk experimental vaudeville act merging puppets, musical theater, and ritual performance into an unforgettably dynamic experience. Rich with ancient magic, humerous poetry, riddles, and catharsis, Stark Levity will have your heads spinning and rolling from laughter and tears. Through storytelling, live audience participation, reverence and irreverence, the listener is taken on a journey through all realms and multiple life times on an unabashed emotional/spiritual roller coaster. You will laugh, cry, and breathe out in awe as you witness this potent duo act out the many voices in your head.
Travis Puntarelli and Marya Stark's musical chemistry onstage is infectious and mesmorizing. The two play off each other like old beloved enemy ashram siblings. Taking the voice of the townfolk through territories of goblins, witches, fairies, these two take you back to the time of the circus bards who minstreled on the streets and performed on the stages of the great traveling wonder shows. Its raw. Its absurd. Its ridiculously awesome.

"She opened her lips... and children suddenly became quiet, guests took a deep breath and forgot their names (and everything else outside of the present moment), heartbreak revealed its sweet side, fairies smiled somewhere, and portals opened to celestial realms. I will never forget that first time I heard the music of Marya Stark. She is a divine siren and wise woman, who's songs spark awakening, love, prayer, peace, magic, myth, dreams, and everything beautiful about human life."

“If I could give both Marya Stark and her album, The Garden, a 10 out of 4 I would. By far one of the best albums I’ve heard in 2012, this project made my hair stand up in utter amazement at how musically, vocally, and sonically incredible The Garden is. If I had a million dollars to invest in an artist, Marya would get my full financial support.”

- Sirena Andrea, Yoniverse Monologues
“Marya Stark’s voice feels as if she were reaching her hands out toward you as if to say, “Come, I’ll show you things you have never seen. I’ll take care of you on the journey.” If we were to look at the lines that map Marya’s palms, we would definitely see an old soul. That voice. It is as pure as a newborn’s breath and yet it sounds like history – the cries of joy, the whispers of intimacy and the whimpers of sadness of a thousand lifetimes.”
