A young woman is called to to the willow, weeping at her roots
holding the potion the village midwife had given her.

Clutching the anguish of life and death in her hands,
She sees the flames of a black Fire
burning in the heart of Dark River
singing to her from the bottom of the creek.

She calls to her ancestors, pleading with them,
unsure of whether or not it is safe to bring life into this realm.

So much division.
So much corruption.
So much confusion.

How could we possibly steward new souls at a time like this?

Her ancestors whisper

“Weep out the salt of the Mother, child.
Weep for the ones who did not survive the atrocities remembered in your bones.
Let your tears cleanse you. Dispel of the ghosted dreams in your blood, and make way in your womb for a new dream”
